About RCB
Only photographs can freeze the many moments that stand out in history.
I would like to think that I have captured that special moment for someone and it will be remembered in that photograph. Photography is an intimate, intensely personal thing. Your use of it expresses you, characterizes you as certainly as your handwriting, your manner of speech, or the friends you choose. If just for a moment I have drawn somebody in to the photograph and made them stop and want to see more if it, then I have done my job.
I have always thought of black and white photography as reality. There is something about the mix of tones in a black and white print that reminds me of life's many roads to travel. My story is simple: I want to stop the eye, if only for a moment and hopefully, have someone relate to the story I am trying to tell.
The 1950s- 1970s was a great period for photography, at that time the photographic world worked with film and chemicals to tell their stories. That has all changed today. I work with 35mm, 2/14 x2/14 and 2/14 x 3/14 film. I enjoy and prefer to work with the chemical process in photography;(Silver Halide) shoot, develop, print and fix. What more can I say. If you have old family slides (35mm & 120mm) and would like copies made to negative film for printing enlargements contact me.
I can print from negative size 16mm up to 5" x 7". I develop all negatives by hand. I can make prints from 1" x 1" up to 24" x 30", but prefer 16" x 20" as a standard printing size.
